Our Name

We believe Jesus Christ is Lord!

Emmanuel
Our Lord Jesus was given the Hebrew name Emmanuel which means, “God with us”.  Jesus Christ is the Son of God and our only Savior from sin. We accept the Bible as the inspired, inerrant, unchanging Word of the Lord and we seek to be reformed by that Word through the powerful work of God the Holy Spirit.  We believe that Jesus Christ is in heaven at God’s right hand, but he has not left us on our own.  We like the name, Emmanuel, because Jesus Christ has sent his Spirit (God the Holy Spirit) to be with us and to live in us.  We believe God has said much about worship that is acceptable to him.  We worship our Lord Jesus Christ and we want to hear Christ preached.

Reformed
The name “Reformed” ties us to the Great Reformation of sixteenth century Europe. 

We belong to the fellowship of the Canadian and American Reformed Churches.  We are in partnership with them for our mutual accountability and stability. Our focus is on Biblical and Christ-centered preaching, teaching, and outreach; covenantal and sacramental worship of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and holy living as a sacrifice of praise to our God for all his goodness and grace.
