We celebrated God's goodness and grace on January
20th, 2008 when Han was baptized. Hemoved to Denver from
Jakarta 6 years ago. He became a Christian last year and we
are thankful that he has joined the church. He made
profession of faith and was baptized. We praise the Lord!
We organized a barbecue in Countryside park on June
16.
We'd like to meet the people there and give them a chance
to get to know the church and the members. Our church is
virtually unknown in Westminster because we are not on one
of the main streets. We desire to change that because we
want many others to know Jesus and find a place in his
church. If you've been there, we invite you to our
community: welcome!
We organized a second barbecue in Countryside park on
July 21, this time combined with a tie-dye activity. This
attracted many children and teenagers from the
neighborhood.
On these photos you see them making their t-shirts. Some
cute photos of the babies in the congregation, too.
We are thankful that Chris and Kim were willing to organize
the tie-dyeing. They do this for the LOOK Project which promotes the
adoption of older kids in Chinese orphanages.
In between prison and society, the halfway house in
Henderson, CO is a place of despair and hope. Inmates get a
chance to find a job and prepare to return to society. The
Christian men there encourage each other. In order to
support them and help them grow in faith, we have a Bible
study every Monday. This is a great opportunity to meet
other men who don't know Jesus yet. Here are some photos of
the group. We started in April and it's still going, by the
grace of God.
Paki has taken the initiative to go to a nursing home
in Thornton to play and sing hymns for them. The mostly
elderly residents recognize the songs from a long time ago.
His words of encouragement between the songs help them to
remember Jesus or to hear about him for the first time.
The young children have their own night of fun every
other Friday night. They can bring their friends. But you
are invited, too!
Take a look at the pictures of the August 10 night. They
made their own sand art, made welcome drawings on the
sidewalk of the church, and played a game together.
